Cortisol rays: amateur bike ride in the Aqueduct Park on 4 October 2025

Prof. Antonio Stigliano, in collaboration with the Italian Cushing's Disease Association, of which he is the scientific advisor, has organised a recreational event aimed at healthcare personnel, caregivers and the general population with the aim of drawing attention to the pathology of excess cortisol and, in particular, to the risks arising from the exogenous intake of steroid preparations, which often aggravate many comorbidities in our population, and to the rare pathologies that characterise forms of endogenous cortisol production.

"Cortisol rays" was born from the idea of using sunlight to mark the beginning of the day and with it the activation of a rhythm that is physiologically essential for our physiological activities (unfortunately altered in these patients), but it also alludes to the rays of the bicycle, which represents the recreational tool of the day.

The sun, with its rays and multiple meanings, reflects the concept of inner energy, willpower and strength, which is what we want to convey to our patients through our work.

The event is open to everyone, but places are limited.
